Northampton Motorsport visits the headquarters of ECUMaster in Kraków, Poland
Northampton Motorsport has been tuning, installing and selling the full range of ECUMaster products since 2019. Over the last couple of years, we have seen a significant increase of requests for ECUMaster engine management system installations as well as cars coming in for tuning with their ECU’s already installed. Based on this successful growth, we were invited by ECUMaster to visit Krakow in Poland, the home of ECUMaster for a factory tour.
ECUMaster was started in 2009 as a passionate engineering adventure which has grown into one of the most respected names in Motorsport electronics. Born from a love of Racing and a relentless drive for precision, ECUMaster set out to deliver professional grade performance to drivers and tuners from all over the world.
The breakthrough came in 2011 with the launch of the legendary EMU Engine Control Unit. This ECU was a total game changer that delivered uncompromising performance at a remarkably accessible price. That winning combination was the real key to success, instantly earning the trust of tuners, race teams and enthusiasts from all around the globe.
Riding that momentum, ECUMaster expanded far beyond ECU’s. The line-up now includes powerful ADU Dashboard Displays and intelligent Power Management Units. They offer a comprehensive toolkit suitable for professional and novice builders who refuse to compromise.
In 2020, ECUMaster opened its doors to a brand new headquarters and in-house research and development centre in Krakow. This megastore supercharged innovation and brought every stage of development and manufacturing under one roof.
The ECUMaster factory tour started with a briefing, a strong Polish coffee and getting geared up. Anti-static ESD overalls and heel straps were provided to protect the wearer and nearby electronics from electrostatic discharge. ECUMaster HQ is a purpose built building and has been shaped to cater for every need ECUMaster can throw at it.
Our tour covered their foyer, goods in/out, PCB assembly line, assembly room, design, production, wiring, coding, workshop, and finished in the engine and chassis dyno. We also got to meet most of their amazing staff including the designers, coders and support staffs that are critical to ECUMasters ongoing success.
The main takeaways from this ECUMaster factory tour was the professionalism of the company from top to bottom. This includes the precise and controlled process of building the ECU’s, their quality assurance and testing protocols to their aftersales support. The ethos of ECUMaster was visible in every room and on the face of every employee that we had the pleasure of meeting.
Today, ECUMaster stands at the cutting edge of engine management with technology engineered for the most advanced powertrains on the road and track.
